Content Designer II - Merchant

**About the Role**
We’re looking for a Content Designer II to join the Merchant design team at Uber. This team plays a key role in helping customers discover new stores and affordable dishes while supporting merchants in expanding their reach and building customer loyalty.
This role requires a blend of strategic systems thinking, principled writing, and collaboration. You’ll craft clear, actionable content that empowers merchants and consumers across Uber’s products.
You'll collaborate closely with product designers, UX researchers, product managers, engineers and product marketers to design content that reflects Uber's commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and impact. The work requires a thoughtful balance of content craft, strategic thinking, and systems design.

\- Design end-to-end content experiences for mobile and web products for merchants.
\- Define scalable frameworks and systems that balance user needs with evolving business goals.
\- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, UX Research, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing to create cohesive, compliant, and inclusive experiences.
\- Use insights and data to refine messaging, simplify decision paths, and continuously improve clarity and impact.
\- Contribute to the content design practice through frameworks, documentation, and tooling, helping teams scale content quality and consistency
\- Advocate for inclusive, accessible content that reflects Uber's global standards and values
\- Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing your time and priorities effectively.
\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----
\- 3+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or product content strategy
\- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to craft clear, impactful content for digital products
\- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered solutions
\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----
\- A degree in English, Communication, Psychology, Design, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field emphasizing storytelling and critical thinking
\- Strong writing craft: clear, concise, user-centered content for digital interfaces
\- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
\- Experience designing for consumer-facing products with an understanding of content design best practices
\- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for content decisions
\- Familiarity with localization, accessibility, and global content standards
\- Demonstrated systems thinking, with the ability to design frameworks that meet current user needs while scaling for future growth
\- A self-starter who thrives on ownership of multiple product areas and drives projects from concept to launch
