Consumer Insights Lead, Prime Video & MGM Studios Japan
Description Elevate Consumer Insights in the Heart of Tokyo's Entertainment Landscape We're seeking a dynamic Consumer Insights leader who will transform how we understand and create content for Japanese audiences. In this pivotal role, you'll be the strategic voice bridging creative vision with customer understanding, driving insights that shape Prime Video and Studios' content and creative strategy across Japan. This role will deliver research on Amazon Prime Video Original content, across Movies and Series. They will dive deep to understand our customers preferences while staying abreast of overall streaming content trends. They will leverage Amazon's proprietary behavioral data along with third-party sources to provide context to primary research findings. Key job responsibilities - Lead and develop a high-performing team of researchers in Tokyo, setting regional goals and content research strategies - Design and implement comprehensive research mechanisms to evaluate content across series and film portfolios - Collaborate with Prime Video and Studios leadership to represent customer perspectives and drive strategic decisions - Work with peers to develop and scale innovative, AI-enabled research workflows that enhance global business insights - Demonstrate proficiency in foundational market research methodologies such as quantitative surveys and in person qualitative methods to help uncover deep audience insight. From analyzing viewer preferences to designing research methodologies, you'll be at the forefront of understanding what captivates Japanese audiences. In Japan, you'll be part of a team that bridges cultural nuances with global content strategies, helping to create experiences that resonate across borders. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of professional non-internship market research experience - Experience managing teams - Experience leading primary research studies across various methodologies: online quant surveys, focus groups, 1:1, ethnographies, online qual, mobile - Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements - Experience communicating results to senior leadership - Experience in third party vendor/research partner management contract negotiation - Native-level or equivalent fluency in Japanese - Business-level fluency in English Preferred Qualifications - Experience conducting market research at an agency or other corporate setting Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
