Job Title: Construction Safety Manager

Job Description

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety protocols on construction sites to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves conducting safety audits, training personnel, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety throughout all phases of construction projects.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.Provide safety training and education to employees, contractors, and subcontractors.Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into planning and execution.Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.Promote a proactive safety culture through communication and engagement.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management.OSHA 30-hour certification required; CSP, CHST, or other safety certifications preferred.Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Procore.Experience with safety records, toolbox talks, and safety management.Experience with projects ranging from $500k to $20M, with a focus on $3-5M projects.Knowledge of safety procedures, audits, and training such as OSHA 500.Experience with healthcare and cleanroom projects.

Work Environment

The position is primarily field-based with frequent visits to active construction sites around NY and CT. It may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on project needs. The work environment involves exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments. 75% of the work involves clean room projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookfield, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/hr.
