Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Construction Representative for heavy civil construction projects. Candidate must have experience inspecting heavy civil construction projects that may include roadway drainage, grading, surfacing and bridges. Candidate must be able to read and understand construction plans and specifications; inspect all aspects of ongoing construction work to verify conformance to the construction contract documents; clearly communicate (orally and written) with Contractor, Owner, and Engineering personnel. Review and understand submittals and other construction documentation; determine quantities of work items installed and review relate contractor pay applications; and complete an electronic daily construction report clearly documenting daily construction and related activities. Experience with Word and Excel is necessary. The job will require the ability to climb ladders, lift light loads and work 40-50 hours per week. Some weekend work may be required. Some travel within Oklahoma may also be required.
Major Accountabilities:
Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specificationsOversee the construction record keeping activities by recommending payments to contractors, review proposed change orders submitted by consultants and preparing daily reportsPrepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolutionProvide information to project manager/construction manager to the need for change orders, extra work and/or supplemental agreementsCommunicate with client, contractors, and other employeesRead plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specificationsOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED required
Associates Degree preferred (in related field)
Construction Rep II: 2-4 years of experience preferred
Construction Rep III: 5+ years of experience
Oklahoma Highway Construction Inspection Technician Sampler Certification preferred.
