Construction Project Manager (CPM), North America EV Charging Solutions
Amazon is looking for a Construction Project Manager (CPM) who will be responsible for the design and construction of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Amazon facilities in the US. This Construction Project Manager will handle both the design management and construction execution of EV charging infrastructure, including power distribution systems and charging stations.

This involves overseeing the design and construction process from project inception through handover, ensuring compliance with Amazon's standards, local codes, and project-specific requirements. The projects focus on EV charger installations, electrical distribution, and service upgrades. Construction Project Managers perform detailed deep dive reviews of designs, budgets, and schedules to identify and resolve discrepancies, including information in consultant and contractor bid packages. They also manage design and construction related change orders and value engineering processes to optimize project outcomes and identify cost savings opportunities.

Construction Project Managers partner with internal customers and external stakeholders (including utility companies, contractors, charging equipment manufacturers, and design consultants) to build trusted partnerships and deliver results. The Construction Project Manager serves as Amazon's representative and direct point of interface with Developers, Contractors, Utilities, Electrical Contractors, Equipment Vendors, and Design Consultants, as well as the primary integrator between design and construction teams and other Amazon stakeholders responsible for implementing, furnishing, and operating our EV charging network.

This opportunity combines design management, construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management.

Key job responsibilities
• Directly responsible for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging project implementation.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously from relatively small renovations to large-sized ($30M+) new facilities. While this is specifically for EV charging, this is an expectation for all construction project managers at Amazon.
• Advise business on impact of changes in schedule, costs, and permitting.
• Manage design and construction scope, cost, schedule; coordinate with internal technical teams and operational customers.
• Survey facilities, audit procedures and labor efficiency, and recommend solutions to infrastructure, safety, and security problems.
• Negotiate contracts, internal and external changes, and formal documentation for approval.
• Ensure contracts are cost-effective and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements.
• Assess project performance through KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Lead project teams (architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, stakeholders) throughout project lifecycle, providing site management, coordination, and planning
• Identify and resolve clashes, design misses, and schedule conflicts with execution teams.
• Review design and construction for conformance; identify value engineering opportunities.
• Comprehensive budget tracking, forecasting, and management of assigned projects.
• Lead discussions with regulatory bodies.
• Maintain positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross-team communication.
• Remote role with upwards of 60% regional travel; potential travel to all North America locations based on business needs.

A day in the life
Your morning may start with reviewing schedules and RFIs for EV charger projects. You're walking sites, documenting progress, and solving real-time problems—a conduit routing conflict or equipment delivery delay. Afternoon may bring contract negotiations or payment application reviews. You're constantly juggling: answering questions, clarifying design intent, leading OAC meetings, and keeping stakeholders informed. Some days are back-to-back meetings coordinating across teams. Other days you're heads-down troubleshooting why a charger won't commission. The role is remote, but you'll travel frequently—walking construction sites and being eyes on the ground. It's fast-paced, technical, and never boring.
