Construction Materials Tester
**Job Title: Construction Materials Tester** **Job Description** Join a dynamic and full-service firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, environmental consulting, and compliance management. We seek an individual who can be cross-trained as a Construction Material Tester, contributing significantly to our environmental remediation business. As a Construction Materials Tester, you will assist and learn from Journeyman technicians, testing materials such as soil, concrete, and asphalt. **Responsibilities** + Assist CMT technicians in performing construction material testing. + Conduct soil compaction and soil sampling tests. + Perform concrete strength tests by collecting samples from concrete trucks, labeling, and testing them in the lab. + Use a nuclear density machine to test soil compaction percentages, adhering to specific project specifications. + Document findings with detailed notes and ensure compliance with construction guidelines. + Travel to work sites using your own vehicle and remain on-site as needed. **Essential Skills** + 2-3+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT). + Ability to lift 50lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions. + Proficient in taking detailed notes and documentation. + Strong willingness to learn and adapt. + Experience in construction, landscaping, concrete pouring, asphalt paving, concrete testing, and soil testing. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + ACI Certification preferred. + INDOT Certifications are a plus. + Nuclear Density Gauge Certification is advantageous. + OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred but not required. + Comfortable working outdoors and flexible with work hours. + Ability to study and pass required testing for certificates. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a supportive work environment where management fosters relationships with employees. Expect 5-10 overtime hours weekly, with potential for up to 60 hours during summer months. Travel is required up to a week at a time, typically 1-2 nights, accounting for 20/30% of the year. Dress attire includes boots, jeans without holes, and shirts with sleeves. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Greenfield, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.
