Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking both experienced and entry-level Construction Materials Technicians, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for various projects in the Greenville area. This position offers opportunities for both seasoned professionals at Tech II and Tech III levels, as well as entry-level candidates with an interest in this field.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
+ Perform grain size analysis, Atterberg Limit testing, moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing on soils.
+ Carry out aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity testing of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight evaluations.
+ Execute compressive and flexural strength testing on concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes, produce laboratory trial batches, sample and test fresh unit weight, air content, and observe batch plant operations.
+ Perform burn and gradation analysis, maximum theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing on hot mix asphalt.
+ Conduct absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in materials inspections, ACI, ICC, I.C.C., and Nicet certifications.
+ Experience in soils and concrete testing, masonry testing, and construction materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-3+ years of experience preferred.
+ ACI certification preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This role involves working both in the field and in a laboratory setting. The position requires conducting basic field and laboratory tests with minimal data analysis. You will assist in complex tasks under the guidance of other technicians or staff professionals.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
