Construction Materials Lab Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Laboratory Technician to perform concrete, soils, and geotechnical testing in a controlled laboratory environment. This position supports construction materials testing (CMT) and geotechnical operations by ensuring accurate testing, documentation, and handling of materials in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.

The successful candidate will work exclusively in the laboratory and play a key role in maintaining testing quality and consistency for concrete and soil samples.

ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory testing of concrete materials, including breaking and testing concrete cylinders in accordance with standard testing procedures.Conduct laboratory soils testing related to geotechnical and construction materials testing (CMT) projects.Perform miscellaneous laboratory testing as assigned to support project requirements.Accurately document test results, observations, and data for reporting purposes.Handle, transport, and prepare samples for testing while following laboratory safety protocols.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of laboratory equipment and materials.Assist with routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure accurate testing results.Follow established laboratory procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control standards.Essential SkillsExperience working in a laboratory environment.Knowledge of concrete and soil testing procedures.Familiarity with geotechnical and construction materials testing (CMT).Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately.Ability to work independently while maintaining consistency and quality standards.Top SkillsLaboratory TestingConstruction Materials Testing (CMT)Concrete TestingSoil TestingGeotechnical TestingAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a construction materials or geotechnical testing laboratory preferred.Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle samples weighing up to 50 pounds.Comfortable performing repetitive testing tasks in a laboratory setting.Basic computer skills for data entry and test documentation.Strong organizational skills and reliability.Commitment to workplace safety and quality control.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Arlington, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
