Construction Material Technician
Job Title: Construction Material TechnicianJob Description

A Construction Materials Technician plays a key role in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of materials used on construction projects. This position blends fieldwork, lab testing, and communication with project stakeholders to help keep projects compliant, safe, and on track.

ResponsibilitiesConduct compaction tests to ensure soil stability and support for construction projects.Perform concrete testing, including pulling cylinders, conducting concrete slump tests, and breaking cylinders.Carry out materials testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.Conduct asphalt testing and inspections to maintain quality assurance and control.Utilize nuclear gauge equipment for accurate soil testing and density measurements.Ensure all testing is conducted following industry standards and regulatory requirements.Provide detailed and accurate documentation of test results and findings.Essential SkillsProficiency in ACI, concrete, asphalt, and materials testing.Experience in concrete inspection and quality assurance.Competence in soil testing and sampling.Proficiency in using nuclear gauge and nuclear density gauge.Active ACI certification or ICC certifications preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in construction materials testing and inspection.Strong report writing skills.Background in geology or engineering.Quality control experience.Work Environment

The work environment involves outdoor work, often onsite in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold. Employees can expect early mornings and long hours. Projects include a wide range of infrastructure such as roadways, bridges, water systems, transmission lines, and building renovations. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
