Construction Manager

Responsibilities + Manage all aspects of rail construction project delivery with clients, designers, and construction management teams. + Serve as the internal lead and primary client point of contact for assigned rail construction projects. + Review and verify rail construction plans, specifications, schedules, and estimate packages. + Travel to project locations for ongoing and upcoming projects. + Support Construction Management and Resident Engineering services to grow and develop inspector/coordinator teams. + Serve as a technical leader in the development and execution of construction activities for major company programs. + Plan, organize, and supervise work of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians both in the office and in the field. + Lead and/or participate in the development of marketing, contractual, and production documents and meetings. + Plan, organize, and coordinate with technical, clerical, and subconsultant professionals on multi-disciplinary teams. + Track financial aspects of projects, coordinate and adjust work effort with team. + Monitor Contractor Quality Documents and compliance with storm water pollution prevention plans. + Understand and monitor compliance with FRA 49 CFR 214 and 219 rules, and eRailSafe. + Work with Business/Accounting/Management teams for project reviews. + Participate in client and stakeholder visits, site visits, field assessments, and construction inspections. + Apply industry experience to strengthen the team and deliver excellent technical work. + Mentor junior staff and support continued development. Essential Skills + Change order management, estimation, civil construction, transportation construction, highway construction, bridge construction. + Minimum 5 years of transportation experience. + Experience in rail or heavy civil/roadway or bridge construction. + Proficiency with Procore, Primavera, and Bluebeam. + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field. + Minimum 2 years of experience in construction planning and management, including field engineering, construction submittals, estimating, scheduling, and site safety. + Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Engineering degree preferred. + Site supervision experience preferred. + Preferably based in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, or possibly North Carolina. + 6 or more years of experience preferred. + Software proficiency in MicroStation, Inroads, and AutoCAD. + Familiarity with local freight client design manuals for public projects. + Experience with AREMA’s Manual for Railway Engineering and other railroad design guidelines. + Expertise with freight rail client guidelines for construction management services. + SWPPP SP Certificate (QSD preferred). + Experience with rail, industrial, or transit clients is strongly preferred. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $55.29/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
