Role OverviewAs a Construction Liaison, you are the primary resource for all things renovation with a focus on customer service, enhancing all aspects of the resident experience at a multifamily apartment home community. You also serve as a link between the Operations teams, Investment team, Cortland Build, and subcontractors across a portfolio of communities.
The Finish Manager
Demonstrate knowledge of all phases of the renovation process and hold contractors and vendors to the Cortland standardIdentify with all residents, address any concerns they might have, and maintain their loyalty to the community Coordinate with the Director of Operations, Community Managers and Service Managers about the process of handing off apartment homes to and from the Operations teamMonitor and ensure that all thermostats in the apartment homes are set at 68 degrees (heating) or 75 degrees (cooling) or turned off if neededMonitor and ensure all contractors are turning off the lights during non-work hours, all tools and equipment are unplugged, and faucets and toilet fill valves are offThe Communicator
Execute communications within the community, including general notices and updates as it pertains to renovation efforts by coordinating with residents, the Operations team, and subcontractors Develop and execute strategies for optimizing resident satisfaction surveys in accordance with the community’s goals and Cortland’s standards as it pertains to renovationMaintain an open line of communication with residents to answer any questions or concerns as it relates to the renovation and improvement process within the communityManage the communication of apartment home statuses in the pipeline and any undergoing renovation through weekly turnover list reporting as well as acceptance formsOversee and manage the flow and inventory of materials at the site Supervise trade work in apartment renovations and ensure Cortland quality standards are upheldMaintain detailed trackers related to all aspects of the unit renovation processProvide reports to the owner and operator on a regular basis including living schedules and budgetsThe Impact You Can Make
You are an expert at time management, prioritization, and multitasking so you’ve quickly adapted to our often-changing, fast-paced work environment.Resident retention is at an all-time high, even with all the construction and renovations going on.Subcontractors stick to our low-disturbance protocols and are motivated to keep work areas as clean as possible.Qualifications Stellar 2+ years in property management with technical and/or renovations experience requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferredOutstanding customer service and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal skills – bilingual abilities may be required based on specific needs of the communitySolid eye for detail and discovering areas in need of improvementExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneSite is preferred About Cortland
