Construction Field / Materials Technician
**Job Title: Construction Field / Materials Technician** Job Description As a Construction Field / Materials Technician, you will perform field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. You will be fully trained in the use of the necessary equipment to accomplish your work. Your initial project will involve assisting the pile team, where you will count piles and collect samples while undergoing training. Responsibilities + Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment setup. + Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results. + Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections using dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar. + Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications. + Interact with client representatives such as supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers at project sites. + Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data. + Carry out sampling or testing as directed. + Assist other field personnel. + Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas. + Support other technicians or professional staff with routine tasks. + Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments. Essential Skills + Experience working outside. + General labor experience. + Experience working in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to bend, kneel, and reach. + Basic computer skills. + Willingness to work long hours. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Testing, inspection, and sampling skills. + Construction and general labor skills. + Concrete, inventory, and inspection skills. + Field sampling and field inspection expertise. + Soil sampling and concrete testing knowledge. + Material sampling and construction field technician experience. + Pile counting, soil testing, and asphalt testing proficiency. + ACI certification. Initially, you will work the first shift from 7am to 7pm, transitioning to night shifts from 8pm after the pile project. You will work 12 hours per day, Monday through Saturday, with flexibility for both first and night shifts as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract-to-hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
