A civil engineering firm that specializes in Phase I planning, Phase II design, and Phase III construction engineering for transportation and municipal projects is looking to add a Construction Engineer to their team!

Job Responsibilities:

Interpret and understand all contract documents, including plans, standard drawings, contractor shop drawings, specifications, and project provisionsConduct daily inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract requirementsMonitor materials installed by contractors to ensure they meet specifications and certification standardsMaintain accurate daily documentation of all contractor work in accordance with client standardsReview contractor shop drawing submittals for compliance with project requirementsAssist with survey layout and perform horizontal and vertical field checks using total station, GPS, or transit levelOversee contractor-installed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) on a daily basisCommunicate regularly with the assigned Project Manager and project team; experienced candidates may also interact directly with clientsVisit and safely navigate construction sites while adhering to all safety regulationsBe available for occasional evening, night, or weekend work as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institutionMinimum of 3 years of experience (tollway, municipal, IDOT)Familiarity with project documentation, record-keeping, and compliance trackingAbility to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently when neededProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteJob Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Aurora, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
