About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Division Manager to provide operational and strategic leadership for our construction division. This role is responsible for driving profitability, operational excellence, team development, and exceptional customer service across all projects and delivery systems within the division.
Reporting to the Vice President, the Division Manager plays a key role in shaping growth strategies, improving processes, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for the division, ensuring alignment with company goalsIdentify and pursue bid opportunities through client relationships, networking, and public/private postingsEnsure all projects are executed safely, on/under budget, and within established timelinesPromote and enforce strong safety practices throughout bidding and project executionDrive operational efficiency by introducing and implementing new processes and technologiesMonitor progress toward annual goals and adjust execution strategies as neededOversee and develop division staff, including goal-setting, performance reviews, mentoring, and coachingCollaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee needs and support are addressed in a timely mannerManage division budget and profitability, including margin structure and cost controlDevelop and execute growth strategies to expand sales and the customer baseStay informed on market trends and competitive activitySupport estimating efforts and mentor project managers and other staff as neededManage divisional Work in Progress (WIP) and report on financial performance monthlyLead divisional meetings and foster clear communication across teamsOversee Field Superintendents and support effective field operationsBuild strong working relationships with field staff, project teams, and clientsConduct job site visits and perform field activities as requiredPromote a collaborative, team-oriented culture and company loyaltyPerform additional duties as assignedTravel between IKM Building Solutions offices in Madison, West Allis and Green Bay, WI
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of construction management experienceEducation
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or universityor5+ years of related construction management experience and/or training
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to learn estimating and project management softwareCommunication & Leadership
Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lead, mentor, and influence employees at all levelsProfessional, confident presenter in both group and one-on-one settingsAdditional Skills
