Job Title: Construction Accountant
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our team! The ideal candidate will manage accounting operations for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, including project draws, AIA documents, sworn statements, and related waivers.
• Track and record accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up on payments.
• Oversee vendor and subcontractor payments, verifying all necessary documentation is in place.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets, analyze costs, and provide financial insights.
• Implement and maintain Percentage of Completion accounting methods to ensure accurate project forecasting.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance team.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Accounting required
• Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction industry experience.
• Proven experience with job costing and financial analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
