Temporary position$23.00 /hourFull Time work availableFirst Shift (Monday through Thursday from 06:00am to 04:30am)Support layup and Infusion Shops, with flexibility to assist other departments based on skill set.Perform hand layup and fabrication of uncured fiberglass and carbon fiber materials.Interpret and follow planning instructions, diagrams, specifications, and manuals related to composite parts production.Cut fabrics and composite materials to size using knives and shears.Prepare and apply parting agents to molds and bond assembly tools.Form materials to molds and remove air bubbles using hands, squeegees, and rollers.Mix and apply resins and bonding adhesives following proper training.Laminate assemblies by placing composite materials into molds.Prepare parts for bagging, including placing bleeders and vacuum connections.Place vacuum bags over parts and tools, and test for leaks.Perform composite finishing, including hand and machine finishing parts to required tolerances and fit into completed assemblies.Composite Technician Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; further education beyond high school is preferred.Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a related field.Experience in hand layup and fabrication of composite materials is preferred.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read travelers, and SOPs.Basic shop math skills.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in reading and understanding basic instructions and diagrams in English.Ability to work effectively in groups and lead them when necessary.Self-driven with the ability to work towards deadlines.Carpentry and building construction experience is highly desirable.Ability to speak and read Spanish is a plus.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.
