Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled Composite Technicians capable of hitting the ground running. This role involves applying advanced technical skills and knowledge to fabricate composite components and tools. The position offers an open-ended long-term contract with the potential to convert to a contract-to-hire role. Technicians will work in a dynamic environment, with opportunities to utilize and enhance their skills in composite fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
+ Fabricate composite components and tools, including bond prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, loading parts into oven/autoclave, de-tooling, trimming, finishing, core processing, integration, and bond work.
+ Operate equipment such as vacuum pumps, heat sources, special hand tools, ladders, stands, mechanical stands, and hi-reach lifts.
+ Build composite parts using techniques like tool prep, wet/prepreg lamination, vacuum bagging, curing, de-tooling, finishing, and core shaping.
+ Interpret and follow project documentation including schedules, work instructions, specifications, and drawings.
+ Maintain accurate records for work orders, material traceability, and related documentation.
+ Store and manage perishable materials properly.
+ Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project goals.
+ Identify and prepare materials required for assembly.
+ Safely operate hand and power tools such as drills, routers, and sanders.
+ Run cure ovens and apply correct curing processes for components.
+ Adhere to safety protocols and understand material handling requirements.
+ Inspect work for quality and report issues to supervisor or lead.
+ Maintain clean and organized workspaces.
+ Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of composite technician experience.
+ Proficiency in all stages of the composite manufacturing process, including tool preparation, wet ply lamination, prepreg lamination, vacuum bagging, de-tooling, curing, finishing, and core shaping.
+ Experience with advanced composite materials such as prepreg epoxy resins with carbon, fiberglass, aramid, and quartz fibers.
+ Ability to operate autoclaves, vacuum systems, hand tools, and power tools.
+ Competence in blueprint reading, trimming, sanding, and fabrication.
+ Familiarity with industry certifications such as NADCAP and AS9100.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working with sealers, resins, composite bagging materials, adhesives, bonding jigs, trim & drill fixtures, ovens, autoclaves, and clean room procedures.
+ Experience in fabricating composite tools is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment includes an open shop, clean room, walk-in freezer, and occasional work in a warehouse. The shift schedule follows a 9/80 pattern with first shift from 6am-3:30pm and second shift from 3pm-11:30pm.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Clemente, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
