Composite Technician
**Job Title: Composite Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking high-level composite technicians to join a dynamic aerospace facility in Santa Ana, CA. This position offers competitive hourly wages based on experience, with opportunities for overtime and Saturday work. As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing, and troubleshooting composite assemblies and sub-assemblies. Your primary responsibility will be to create composite structures that adhere to design specifications while working efficiently from standard procedures and specifications. **Responsibilities** + Produce conforming products and re-work any identified non-conforming products for re-inspection. + Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates. + Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, manufacturing instructions, and work orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly. + Repair, rework, and calibrate assemblies and systems to meet specifications and tolerances. + Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. + Monitor and review processes, materials, and work environment to detect or assess problems. + Identify and correct common process problems. + Read and interpret work instructions. + Perform mold surface preparation and maintenance. + Kit composite materials. + Perform lamination of pre-preg composite materials. + Assemble and disassemble molds to yield conforming composite structures. + Execute vacuum bagging operations of small to medium composite structures. + Complete trimming and sanding operations, achieving close tolerances using fixtures and various hand tools. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience in composite work within the aerospace industry. + Ability to interpret drawings and schematics. + Proficiency with hand tools and machines. + Proficiency with various inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in a regulated industry is preferred. + Ability to work under timelines and pressure. + Capability to perform precision work by hand. + Good visual acuity required. + Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously. + Work effectively without direct supervision. + Work well in a fast-paced environment and in close proximity to others. + High attention to detail and ability to quickly spot and address flaws in raw materials. + Hand dexterity and coordination for specific finger movements and hand layup techniques. + Strong organizational skills to track various parts during the process. + Commitment to cleanliness as parts are sensitive to foreign materials. + Safety-minded approach to work, recognizing the importance of careful operation around machinery and equipment. + Competence in writing comprehension to read and understand work instructions and job orders. + Computer literacy is a plus for using computer interfaces to record and manage production. **Why Work Here?** This opportunity offers direct hire with great benefits and long-term growth potential.
