The Expanding Market Surveillance team is seeking an experienced and technically proficient individual with some trading expertise to support increasing business demands. The Global Financial Crimes Compliance Market Surveillance team oversees State Street’s foreign exchange (FX), equities, Global Link, Global Treasury, and Securities Lending businesses, focusing on transaction and communication reviews, investigations, and market trend analysis.

What you will be responsible for
As Trade Surveillance Officer you will
Review and investigate alerts generated by monitoring systems to determine their validity and take appropriate actionsDesign and implement advanced market surveillance rules across various business lines, covering multiple business classes.Analyze market trends and patterns across FX, equities, derivatives and fixed-income transactions to identify potential risks and anomaliesCollaborate and conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with other team members and departments to gather informationAssist in optimizing market surveillance rules, alerts and parametersPrepare and present reports on surveillance findings and recommendations to stakeholders and/or regulatorsWork closely with compliance and legal teams to ensure all regulatory requirements are metMonitor and analyze trade data for accuracy and completenessMaintain accurate and detailed records of surveillance activities and findingsProactively identify potential areas of improvement and suggest solutions to enhance surveillance proceduresMaintain confidentiality and adhere to all data privacy and security protocolsCommunicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates on surveillance activities and escalate any issues or concernsPro-actively assist with trade surveillance activities and projectsWhat we value

Knowledge of financial markets, market abuse regulations and scenarios including regulatory complianceStrong analytical skills to identify trading patterns, detect market abuse, and conduct complex investigations with the ability to liaise effectively with trading desks and senior stakeholdersGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteGood team player and excellent communicator who can work in a diverse and global environmentEducation & Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in financial markets, banking operations with good equities, related derivatives (equity swaps, futures) and fixed income products knowledgeDegree in Finance, Economics, Math, or related discipline a plusProficient in any foreign languages is not mandatory but a plusAdditional requirements
Proficient in analyzing large datasets to detect anomalies and generate actionable insightsKeen interest in learning trading system analytics and market surveillance toolsKnowledge of trade surveillance software a plusAre you the right candidate? Yes!
