Our technological capabilities have consistently delivered micro-precision parts to leading companies across a wide range of industries across the globe. **Compliance Manager – Europe** **Location: Netherlands** **Position Summary** We are seeking a Compliance Manager to lead our compliance program at multiple sites in the Netherlands with the opportunity to expand leadership to other sites in the UK. This role is critical to ensuring our operations align with Dutch, EU, and international trade regulations, including military, dual-use goods and customs requirements. The Compliance Manager will work closely with U.S.-based compliance counterparts to secure global alignment and oversee compliance activities across all business units, including purchasing, shipping, and sales. This position also plays a key role in identifying tariff mitigation opportunities and contributing to strategic decision-making that supports compliant and cost-effective trade operations. The primary customers served by this role are in the semiconductor market, requiring a high level of precision, responsiveness, and regulatory expertise. **Key Responsibilities** + Develop, implement, and maintain a robust trade compliance program covering import/export controls at multiple sites. + Partner with U.S. compliance teams to ensure consistent application of global trade compliance policies and procedures. + Oversee, implement and support compliance-related processes/tasks across multiple job functions such as purchasing, shipping, engineering and sales. Ensure these functions operate in accordance with applicable trade laws and internal policies. + Design and implement standardized compliance processes and procedures to be followed at each site, ensuring consistency and accountability across locations. + Maintain strict adherence to EU military and dual-use regulations, Dutch customs laws, and international sanctions regimes. Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact. + Partner with technical contacts at the sites to perform export control classification determinations, and if necessary obtain licensing. Liaise MSS Compliance along with Dutch and EU authorities for license applications and renewals. + Identify and implement strategies to reduce tariff exposure through proper classification, valuation, and use of trade agreements or special customs regimes. + Provide strategic input to leadership on trade compliance risks and opportunities. Support business planning and expansion initiatives with compliance insights. + Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. + Partner with US Compliance team to design and deliver trade compliance training on various topics to internal stakeholders. + Act as the primary point of contact for compliance matters that require attention. Escalate to MSS Compliance as necessary + Maintain compliance data in ERP systems while ensuring accurate data management, data integrity and useful reporting. **Qualifications** + Degree in Business, International Trade, or related field. + Minimum 5–8 years of experience in trade compliance, preferably within the EU and Dutch regulatory environment. + Proven experience managing military and dual-use and sanctions licenses in the Netherlands. + Experience in performing export and import classification analysis for parts, components and assemblies. + Strong knowledge of EU and US export control regulations, ECCN classification, and HS codes. + High ethical standards, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. **Preferred Attributes** + Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business processes. + Strategic mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and business enablement. + Hands-on mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving. + Experience working in multinational or matrixed organizations. + Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills. + Familiarity with the regulatory and operational needs of the semiconductor industry **Job Family:** Legal **Business Unit:** Veco
