Job Title: Compliance Manager

Job Description

Join a leading organization in the development of reliable remotely piloted aircraft and advanced surveillance systems. As a Compliance Manager, you will be part of the Risk & Control Assurance department, leading a team to support the sustainability of the organization’s DFARS Business Systems. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with DFARS standards, including cost accounting, financial reporting, and cybersecurity, while fostering a risk and control mindset throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

Manage a team to plan, coordinate, and execute DFARS Business Systems monitoring activities.Monitor changes to DFARS regulations and implement necessary updates to processes and procedures.Proactively identify areas of risk or potential compliance issues and recommend strategies or solutions.Perform annual risk assessments, monitoring activities, and resource planning for the department.Act as an audit liaison to DCAA by coordinating audit processes and preparing draft responses.Collaborate with Business System owners to identify root causes and define corrective action plans.Support senior leadership and Business System owners in process improvement initiatives or special projects.Coach, mentor, and support team development, providing on-the-job training and encouraging knowledge sharing.Participate in department recruiting efforts, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, and performance reviews.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline with eleven or more years of experience in finance/accounting.Experience in a commercial or government contractor environment.Comprehensive understanding of industry and government cost accounting principles, theories, and concepts.Proficiency in leading audits and preparing for government reviews.Ability to research and interpret regulatory compliance matters, including FAR and DFARS.Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MBA in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA certification, and/or major accounting firm experience is highly desirable.Expertise in finance/accounting management areas and the ability to resolve complex management and finance/accounting problems.Self-initiated work ability and capability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment

The role involves a blend of 30% audit, 50% process improvement, and 20% internal controls. The position is process-oriented and requires collaboration with stakeholders on projects to identify improvement areas and make recommendations. The work environment is dynamic, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Poway, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
