Compliance Data Governance Lead, Vice President

Who we are looking for

State Street Corporation is building transformational Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs by executing innovative data management strategies while ensuring Enterprise practices and policies. As the Compliance Data Governance Lead, you will help support and document the performance of state-of-the-art models, methods, and reports. You will support the validation, monitoring, and performance reporting of essential business processes to key stakeholders. You will also play a significant role in partnering with business units, data stewards, and IT teams for a better understanding of the customer journey across multiple lines of business and determine priorities to support both data transparency and Compliance needs.

You will act as the product owner and subject matter expert to ensure state-of-the-art data management practices. You will analyze risks, oversee the documentation, monitoring, and performance reporting on Compliance data to key stakeholders. We ask that you collaborate with other State Street stakeholders regarding the Compliance program as required. 

This role can be performed in a hybrid model (4 days on site, 1 day remote) out of various State Street locations, such as: Boston & Quincy, MA; Stamford, CT; Clifton & Princeton, NJ; Berwyn, PA; Austin, TX; Irvine & Sacramento, CA; Kansas City, MO.

Major Responsibilities:

Oversee Day-to-Day Data Governance Operations within Compliance

Direct the deployment of data quality controls by data producers and infrastructure teams

Ensure data stewards within their area of responsibility are engaged and are executing data governance activities

Drive enterprise data-decision making processes and facilitate discussion to address conflicting viewpoints

Guide the Business Unit stewardship needs for information sourcing; provisioning; consumption; standardization; and reporting & analytics

Drive the resolution of data, information and processing challenges that are having an adverse impact on the operational environment and/or business performance

Identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate it in the data strategy

Conduct as-needed alignment meetings on strategic data-driven initiatives

Support AML, Compliance, and business stakeholders with the development of analytic insights into data governance.

Leverage strong business and communication skills to identify and resolve data gaps, code issues, while mining data for insights and patterns

Support ongoing data engineering and database development along with required data transformation activities

Report data quality issues to the Business Risk Committees

Confirm data is fit-for-purpose upon landing while engineering data souring requirements

Manage data provider/consumer relationships to support the usability and quality throughout the supply chain
 

Education/ Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred

6+ years of experience in data management, data forensics, reference or transactional data management, data governance, data engineering data architecture, data modeling or data analysis experience

Experience with data governance tools or products (e.g. Collibra, etc.)

Experience with MDM tools or products (e.g. SAP MDG, Informatica, etc.) preferred

Strong SQL experience required; some Python preferred

Proficiency with Databricks, Actimize, Fircosoft, AWS, , and related database tools and technology preferred

Proficiency with banking and financial markets preferred
 

Skills and Experience:

Extensive experience supporting data governance, quality and lineage

Understanding of the data input process in support of model risk management responsibilities

Experience working with data and analytic solutions and the science behind them, either as a builder/provider of these solutions or as a client that uses them.

Strong skills leading teams and building positive business partner relationships

Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals

Demonstrated ability to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment

Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Familiarity with data privacy laws and controls (like: GDPR)

Salary Range:

$110 000 - $188 750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
