Assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational riskMonitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulationsDesigns and implements controls, policies, procedures and trainingConducts independent testingInvestigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breachesLeads the firm's response to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiriesCompliance Engineering empowers these activities by building and operating a suite of software platforms and applications. We partner with Compliance Officers across divisions, to fully understand the financial products, business strategies, and regulatory regimes. Compliance Engineering is looking to fill a Project Manager role at the VP level.
Your Role
As a member of our team, you will partner globally across multiple divisions and engineering teams to create end-to-end solutions. You will be able to innovate and incubate new ideas, and you will learn and share knowledge across the organization. You will be the delivery lead of a range of Compliance Engineering projects, such as development of software to monitor for suspicious transactions; visualize patterns of customer or employee behavior in an investigative UI; surveil for market manipulation and insider trading; automate workflows with new platforms and virtual assistants; and ensure data integrity across the full suite of Compliance applications and processes.
You will help understand the risks involved in the Goldman Sachs businesses and drive the delivery of Compliance Engineering projects.
Your typical day could look like this:
Define product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics aligned to business objectivesCollaborate with Engineering and Compliance stakeholders to translate product strategy into technical executionWork with project sponsors to define and actively manage project scope, plan, resource, budget, timeline, deliverables, and dependenciesCreate a long-term plan, including setting targets for near and far-away milestones, adhering to deadlines and managing resourcesDesign, develop and maintain a project’s reporting framework, and communicate with key stakeholders on progress of the projectObtain updates from multiple workstreams from Compliance, Engineering, and the businessQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience managing / launching technical products6+ years of project management experience, including experience driving the product vision, design, and launch strategyProven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authorityMust work well in a global team, multi-tasking environment and under pressureAdaptability and being comfortable with uncertaintyThe ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and on paper (i.e., great written and verbal communications skills)Knowledge of the financial industry and compliance or risk functions would be welcome but are not expectations.
