The Compensation Analyst participates in job design, position leveling, and market pricing to evaluate positions in alignment with the organizational compensation structure. This analytical position serves in a consultative capacity on issues of internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance and will research current market practices, measure the effectiveness of existing plans, and evaluate current and future opportunities to analyze the impact of a wide range of compensation options.

Responsibilities Complete market analysis, job evaluation, and internal leveling of new and updated positions to ensure both external and internal equity. Based on position-specific information, determine if an existing description can be used for classificationModify and create new descriptions which accurately reflect current roles, responsibilities, and requirementsProvide consultative guidance, interpretation, training and recommendations to managers, supervisors, and team members related to all compensation programs, policies, actions, and issuesVerify compensation by researching, benchmarking, and analyzing market data and recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related issuesParticipate in external salary surveys, determining matches and submitting organization profiles.Assist in the administration of annual Salary Planning programResponsible for maintaining documentation of FLSA determinations and classifying exemption status for jobs through review of job profile or desk audits and ensure appropriate EEO mapping of positionsComplete audits monthly of any pay transparency changes or updates and federal, state, or municipality pay legislation changesPartner with recruiting team to advise and educate on pay transparency changes & updates to pay guidelinesRun and create key HR related business reports using multiple platforms to provide specific information and be an information resource to leaders in the field regarding compensation related projectsResearch and resolve questions, discrepancies, and other ad hoc requests from leadershipAssist with updating and reviewing incentive plans, assist with generating rosters for plan distribution through learning management systemEnsure policies are in place and incentive compensation process and related controls are clearly documented and executedEffectively train leaders and colleagues in compensation practices and policiesPerform audits on compensation equity, and work with leaders on action planEvaluate and processes requests for salary adjustments, special payments, bonuses and auto allocationsEvaluate and process electronic Employee Action Form submission request for salary adjustments, special payments, bonuses and auto allowancesReview and research various personnel actions such as employee status changes, promotions, terminations, unpaid leave, etc., to stay in alignment with various company regulations and state mandatesWork with end-users to provide functional expertise for coding issues and resolution by analyzing, researching, and implement proper solutionsComplete data entry for day-to-day routine maintenance activities and updates to colleague’s recordsReceive, respond to, and investigates employee and HR staff queries regarding various HR related questionsAssist team members as needed in day-to-day activities and/or participate in special compensation or research projects Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field of study from an accredited college or university or equivalent experienceIn lieu of an undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college is equal to one year of directly related experience and vice versa Certifications and/or Licenses:SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferredCertified Compensation Professional (CCP) or classes towards CCP certification is a plusConcentra Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative and FlexibilityAbility to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutionsOutstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalismThe ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policiesWorking knowledge of compensation/HRIS principles and practices, and state and federal government regulations pertaining to compensation (i.e., DOL, FLSA)Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practicesAdvanced Excel skills required (i.e., pivot tables, vlookups, date conversion, mathematical formula creation to calculate sums, ratios, and percentages) with an ability to calculate and interpret mathematical formulas such as percentages, ratios, statistical average, median, multiple regressionAbility to identify and solve problems through creativity, sound compensation principles and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks (planned and unplanned) while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality of work.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional departments such as Payroll, Finance, Human Resources and Executive Leadership in understanding business needs and in developing suitable compensation recommendations.Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; strong business writing and verbal communication skills to effectively present ideas in a variety of mediums.
