Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Community Center at Seymour Johnson Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates adults, family and teen programs for Seymour Johnson AFB Arranges for quality entertainment for special events or special interest groups Position requires a pre employment physical Responsibilities Monitors and conducts programs and operations of the Community Activity Center facilities and activities. Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates adult, family, and teen programs for Seymour Johnson AFB Community Activity Center programs. Co-sponsors family activities with other base agencies. Conducts needs and interest assessments to determine programming and instructional classes. Arranges for quality entertainment for special events or special interest groups. Ensures safety policies are established, current and enforced at all times. Markets programs effectively. Solicits and trains volunteers as needed for special programs. Orders necessary supplies, equipment and materials to ensure successful completion of activities or programs conducted. Gives presentations to various community groups when requested. Assists manager with setting work schedules, assigns work and training new employees. Prepares budgets, and operates within budget parameters. Established, reviews and evaluates lounge operations, purchase of supplies and equipment and ensures inventory accountability during the absence of the Community and Partnership Specialist. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty. Received and resolves customers complaints, concerns and requests for special services. operates a cash register as needed for program and facility payments and prepares financial reports as required by IAW established guidelines. May be required to operate a government vehicle. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in recreation programming and recreation facility operations with the ability to independently plan and carry out programs for adults, families and youth. Must have had experience which demonstrates the ability to plan and establish objectives or performance goals and ability to assess programs toward achievement. Must possess ability to work with youth and adults at a professional level. Required to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Some experience in lounge operations, inventory control, cash handling, ordering merchandise, marketing, and cash handling to include cash accountability control methods. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds. Conditions of employment: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation. Must complete a pre employment physical. This is a designat4ed drug testing position. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must have a valid state drivers license. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
