Communications Manager

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are seeking a strategic, execution-oriented communicator to join Waystar’s Marketing team, reporting to the Vice President of Communications + Client Advocacy. This role will play a meaningful role in shaping and advancing Waystar’s brand narrative, driving storytelling excellence and ensuring a cohesive, impactful voice across audiences and channels—applying thoughtful strategy, strong editorial judgment, and a working knowledge of emerging technology.

This role will partner closely with marketing, product, and leadership teams to translate business priorities into high-quality content that reflects Waystar’s mission, values, and voice. You will write, edit, and proofread materials for multiple platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact by applying sound judgment around audience, timing, and channel selection and by leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and precision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Write and edit a range of content, including executive remarks, narratives, press releases, internal communications, and thought leadership pieces such as white papers and blogs 

Apply a strategic lens to content development, ensuring materials align with broader marketing and communications priorities 

Ensure all written materials are on-brand and aligned with Waystar’s voice. 

Own day-to-day content execution, including managing content flow, approvals, and timelines with discipline and flexibility 

Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality 

Leverage AI tools to research, draft, personalize, and analyze communications 

Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen and evolve Waystar’s storytelling across channels and key moments 

Champion Waystar’s culture and people through values-driven storytelling 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in communications, PR, marketing, or a related field 

Proven experience capturing executive voice and tone in written materials 

Demonstrated ability to write effectively across formats and audiences — internal, external, and digital 

Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities 

Track record of crafting high-impact content that brings technology and AI innovations to life and clearly articulates business value 

Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot 365, etc.) to enhance research, writing, or analytics 

Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and accountability as an individual contributor, and to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners 

A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and on deadline
