Position Overview

Autodesk’s Design & Manufacturing team. This role will lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy, spanning internal and external communications channels. Operating as a senior individual contributor and trusted advisor, this role partners closely with D&M leadership, product marketing, and the broader Global Communications team to deliver integrated, business-aligned communications.
 

Location and travel: Based in AMER, preferably San Francisco Bay Area, with flexibility for the right candidate. Roughly 30% travel will be required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a communications plan aligned to Autodesk’s technology and business priorities, partnering closely with colleagues in marketing and internal communications

Develop and execute executive thought leadership platform and program, driving external awareness through media, events, speaking opportunities, owned channels, and more

Build and sustain strong relationships with top-tier, trade, and industry media, analysts, and influencers in the D&M ecosystem

Craft executive content that articulates your executive's vision and priorities including keynotes, talking points, key messaging, briefing books, and presentations

Partner closely with PR Managers and employee communications to oversee content creation, review cycles, and distribution of materials across internal and external channels

Establish clear objectives and KPIs to evaluate communication effectiveness

Partner with leaders and communicators across regions and business units, including marketing and product, to ensure alignment of messages and reinforce Autodesk’s technology strategy and culture

Minimum Qualifications

12+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications, ideally within B2B technology, agency experience a plus

Proven experience supporting senior-level executives

Demonstrated success leading PR strategies that support business goals and executive priorities

Strong media relations experience with a proven ability to secure high-impact coverage

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

Global communications experience across regions and markets

Prior experience mentoring or leading junior communications professionals or agency teams

Experience in design, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial software industries is a plus

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $138,000 and $246,840. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
