**Job Summary**
**University of Utah Human Resource Management**( UHRM ) is seeking a skilled communications professional in a newly-created role to lead our internal and external communications from the University of Utah as an employer. This individual will sit on our Human Resources Leadership Team and have the opportunity to partner with departmental leadership and centers of excellence to drive communication strategy and ensure a consistent voice in our employment brand.
The Communications Specialist will take ownership of our departmental website (**hr.utah.edu)**. The specialist will partner with subject matter experts to ensure accurate and relevant information is communicated on our departmental websites, in email and newsletter materials, in meetings and institution wide-announcements. External communications may include messaging to University staff and faculty on UHRM events such as retirement week, flu clinics, employee appreciation day, benefits and university-wide trainings. Internal communications will focus on departmental communication strategy, managing a style guide and internal branding for our centers of excellence (benefits, talent acquisition, training and development, payroll etc) as well as UHRM -led meetings and updates.
A successful candidate for this position will possess proven experience exercising strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the employee experience, has excellent attention to detail and who can independently establish priorities and proceed with objectives.

**Work Location:** This position will be a hybrid position working both remotely and in our downtown SLC office. An employee hired into this role must be able to live and work in the State of Utah. They will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah Telecommuting Agreement while working remotely.

**Responsibilities**
**Marketing Communication Specialist, III**
+ Engage in the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications materials to efficiently support human resource services, employment campaigns and university brand across various communication channels.
+ Take ownership of all UHRM website materials. Partner with University Marketing and Communications as well as subject matter experts to ensure UHRM web materials are accurate, up to date and consistent.
+ Regularly audit, revise and update communication materials put out by University of Utah human resources including but not limited to web, email, digital and print communications.
+ Create communication programs that accurately share information about the services, policies and employment at the University of Utah through various means including blogs and social media, departmental websites, product collateral, logos, or other promotional products.
+ Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, external partners and vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns such as job fairs, employee appreciation day, open enrollment, wellness initiatives etc.
+ Develop a calendar for communications campaigns and initiatives to ensure interaction and engagement with our target audiences.
+ Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies.
+ Conducts work assignments as directed.

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Marketing Communication Specialist, III :** Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
**Preferences**
Ability to generate graphics and photography as needed.
Experience in content creation.
Proficiency in Wordpress, Adobe, MyEmma and working in Microsoft Suite including Teams.
Familiarity with Human Resource functions.
