Job Description
**Who will you be working with?**
You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—including Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance—to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with Wabtec’s long‑term business objectives.
**How will you make a difference?**
You will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, ensuring best cost, quality, delivery, and innovation. You will manage global suppliers, drive productivity initiatives, support NPI projects, and proactively mitigate risks impacting supply performance and business continuity.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related fields.
+ Experience in sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain.
+ English advanced.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
+ Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
+ Established project management skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Develop and implement commodity strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
+ Manage global supplier base, including qualification, selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
+ Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable contractual terms, long‑term agreements, and cost improvements.
+ Drive productivity and cost‑out initiatives.
+ Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring timely supplier engagement, sourcing decisions, and material availability.
+ Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
+ Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to develop suppliers’ technical capabilities and ensure compliance with Wabtec specifications.
+ Report commodity performance metrics, including cost reductions, cash improvement, and project progress.
+ Mapping of actual spend (supplier mapping & supply flows, technology mapping, competitive risks, know‑how & technology shifts, purchase amount trends, shortage impacts, risk mitigation, dual sourcing, contracting and T&Cs, obsolete management...).
+ Drive and monitor supplier selection processes.
+ Define Sourcing Plans including supplier reduction, capabilities verification, and performance optimization.
+ Negotiate supplier frame agreements and supply contracts (VMI, YoY productivity, safety stock, sustainability).
+ Ensure technical and market intelligence for assigned commodities.
