About the role
Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner pastry and dessert items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

What you will do

According to Guest orders, prepare pastry and dessert items of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; complete mise en place and set up the pastry station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service.

Assist in the preparation of pastry components such as creams, doughs, batters, fillings, and garnishes as required for the next shift.

Prepare pastry items ahead of time when required, ensuring production does not exceed estimated needs and freshness standards are maintained.

Operate, maintain, and properly clean pastry and kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, food processors, blast chillers, proofers, chocolate tempering machines, refrigerators, freezers, piping tools, and baking molds.

What you bring

High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education with a focus on pastry, or equivalent experience.

Ability to operate, maintain, and properly clean pastry and kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, food processors, blast chillers, proofers, and chocolate tempering equipment. Basic pastry techniques knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

Work knowledge is generally learned on the job.

Schedule & Hours:

This is a full-time position

The candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays.

This position is based at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the contract is seasonal. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
