Key Responsibilities\nAssemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.\nPrepare simple food items. “mis-en-place”\nCook and serve dishes according to the restaurant’s menu.\nAble to develop sushi menus\nMonitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment\nProvide direction to the Kitchen helpers, including Commis, Cooks, Kitchen Attendants and Stewards.\nMaintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation\nConducting on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintaining a record of progress for each staff member.\nPrepare kitchen equipment for use. \nAssist with checking, receiving and storing of goods.\nManages sushi station inventory, orders supplies, and minimizes wastage.\nInteracts with guests at the sushi bar to provide an engaging dining experience\nMaintain storage areas.\n
Job Requirements \nProven experience as a Sushi Chef\nDeep knowledge of sushi types and traditional techniques.\nShould understand how to read recipes and a good knowledge of cooking \nGood communication skills\nThorough understanding of food safety guidelines and sanitation practices for raw fish.\nUnderstanding of, flavour, pairings, and authenticity.\n
