We are looking for a skilled Technician to join our team. This position requires you to work from Monday to Thursday, from 7 am to 5:30 pm, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC/Sheet metal systems and components.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair, and maintain HVAC/Sheet metal systems and components.Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for HVAC and related materials.Hang VAV boxes, offsets, and dampeners.Use and maintain your own tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).Identify required tools and special equipment.Select the type and size of sheet metal required (e.g., square, circle, galvanized, ductwall).Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.Ensure compliance with building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation.Apply codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance.Administer and schedule work, prepare budgets, and keep daily reports.Schedule work in cooperation with other trades and suppliers.Essential SkillsMechanical/HVAC experience in commercial and industrial buildings.Knowledge of relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for installation and maintenance.Ability to work cooperatively with other trades.Team building skills.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Decision-making skills.Effective verbal, presentation, and listening communication skills.Effective negotiation and mediation skills.Effective written communication skills.Stress management skills.Time management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsNew construction and retrofit experience is required.Certifications such as EPA 608, HVAC Excellence, North American Technician Excellence (NATE), Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), or HVAC/R certification are preferred but not required.Why Work Here?Join a reputable mechanical contractor known for consistent work opportunities across the greater Jacksonville area.
