What You’ll Be Doing

The Commercial Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems. Under the guidance of the Area Service Manager (ASM), the technician will handle routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs, ensuring systems meet industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach. Commercial Refrigeration Technicians are expected to prioritize safety, satisfaction, and client comfort while promoting the company’s values of quality service and integrity.

Responsibilities Provides the highest level of customer service, technical ability, and quality to our customersInstalls, maintains, and repairs most standard refrigeration units for commercial customers such as reach-in coolers and freezers, beverage dispensers, walk-in coolers and freezers and rack unitsDiagnoses and repairs electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of the commercial refrigeration systemsTravels to job sites in assigned service area and works with assigned Dispatcher(s) to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customersAvailable to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to address emergency service needs for customerMaintains good working order of company vehicle, including cleaning and organizing, and washing vehicle a minimum of once per weekMaintains proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, type of fuel, and pictures as necessaryDocument details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through company-provided cell phone and/or iPad applicationsDiagnoses a variety of service issues, obtains necessary replacement parts, calibrates systems according to manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicates the issue(s) and recommended solutions to the clientParticipates in company-provided training opportunities and adheres to all safety policies and proceduresIdentifies and reports potential opportunities for additional business to managementFollow all environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of refrigerants, in accordance with EPA guidelinesOther related duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilitiesIn-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systemsProficient in reading schematics, work plans, and using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instrumentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAdvanced understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principlesAble to work independently and as part of a teamHighly dependable and consistent in delivering quality workEnthusiastic, with strong integrity, craftsmanship, and a positive attitudeBasic computer skills for communication and documentation using iPads and/or cell phonesWillingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requiredAbility to travel to assigned client sitesCommitment to delivering high levels of customer service consistently What We’re Looking For

 

Specific Industry Certification/License EPA Certification High school diploma or equivalent required2+ Years of recent HVAC/R Technician field experience requiredMust have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
