Position Overview

Leads full commercial oversight of the project including contracts, financial exposure, change management, claims/disputes, and risk management. Provides strategic commercial guidance to senior project leadership.

District Overview

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. The serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada.

Location

This role will be based in Ottawa

Responsibilities Lead commercial strategy and ensure compliance with DB/P3 contract obligations and procedures. Oversee change management, claims preparation, payment mechanisms, performance provisions, and commercial reporting. Manage large subcontract portfolios, commercial negotiations, and risk mitigation plans. Develop frameworks for variations, disputes, and contractual correspondence; ensure timely notices and records. Interface with legal teams, executive leadership, the client, and project partners; prepare high‑level summaries and forecasts. Qualifications 10+ years commercial management experience on major infrastructure or transit projects (LRT preferred). Proven negotiation skills on high‑value subcontracts; strong contract interpretation and financial acumen. Deep understanding of claims principles, construction law concepts, and dispute resolution processes. Familiarity with common construction systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex/Unifier, P6, Bluebeam, Power BI) is considered an asset.

Base Compensation: $120,000/yr - $150,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
