**As a Commercial Manager, you will support the Caterpillar Resource Industries Sales, Services, and Technologies (RISST) Electrification Commercial group by leading the simulation and analysis team to support commercial opportunities and strategic projects.** This team provides critical recommendations that guide both short‑term and long‑term customer decarbonization initiatives.
You will play a key role in advancing innovative solutions such as **Cat® Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET)** and **zero‑exhaust mining equipment** .
**Cat® Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET)** is a fully Caterpillar‑developed system that transfers energy to both diesel‑electric and battery‑electric large mining trucks as they operate on a mine site. It can also charge batteries while the machine is running, enabling increased speed on grade, improved operational efficiency, and greater uptime.
**What You Will Do**
+ Lead the simulation team, define objectives, and prioritize workload.
+ Develop standardized work practices and outputs to ensure a consistent and high‑quality customer experience.
+ Build and scale the simulation team to meet increasing industry demand.
+ Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day activities of staff performing customer simulations and support the resolution of customer inquiries.
+ Partner with customers, product groups, districts, and dealers to create decarbonization pathways and recommend solutions that maximize product value and price.
+ Conduct site simulations to determine site‑level power requirements.
+ Use modeling tools to guide customers in making site‑level infrastructure decisions.
+ Perform site‑level total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to optimize electrified machines and infrastructure relative to existing technologies.
+ Support electrification NTI & NPI programs through VOC collection, functional requirements definition, cost targeting, and commercial strategy development.
+ Collaborate with internal partners to understand emerging decarbonization technologies and their impact on Caterpillar and customer economics.
+ Consult on customer projects involving product and application knowledge, critical end‑user requirements, competitive analysis, market insights, and growth opportunities.
**What Skills You Will Have**
**Industry Knowledge:** Strong understanding of the **mining industry and equipment** , with extensive experience in **mining, simulation, sales support, or engineering** .
**Customer Focus:** Ability to align solutions to customer needs and create tailored experiences that drive customer satisfaction.
**Decision Making & Critical Thinking:** Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed, effective decisions.
**Effective Communication:** Proficiency in communicating ideas and information clearly and appropriately across diverse audiences. **Public Speaking:** Ability to **deliver presentations to large audiences** in support of Caterpillar programs and industry events.
**Relationship Management:** Skill in building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and internal partners.
**Top Candidates Will Also Have**
+ Experience with fleet or machine performance tools.
+ Experience with machine simulation tools.
+ Experience with cost‑modeling tools.
+ Experience in electrification or related fields.
**Additional information:**
This position requires the candidate **to work full-time in the Tucson, AZ office.**
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position will require up to 10% travel.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
