Job Description
The Commercial Finance Manager will provide lead financial support to the Consumer-Packaged Goods team. This role focuses on enhancing the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, discussing both volume and margins, and involves monthly results analysis on volumes and revenue. The position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing and supply chain cost structures to improve costs and recommend portfolio changes.
ResponsibilitiesLead financial support to the Consumer-Packaged Goods team on S&OP, discussing both volume and margins.Provide monthly results analysis on volumes and revenue, including deep dives into root causes and variances against previous years, budget, and forecast.Offer financial support during the annual budget exercise.Support the monthly Risk and Opportunities update, indicating future action plans to mitigate risks and optimize opportunities by highlighting financial implications.Monitor and analyze spending to support sales, including promotions, coupons, demos, and marketing events.Understand and recommend improvements based on manufacturing and supply chain cost structures.Conduct comparable company analysis and understand industry key drivers and trends.Drive standardization on reports and leverage standardized PowerBI reports.Assist in standardizing performance metrics and conduct benchmarking and root-cause analyses.Develop meaningful SG&A reports for the organization to manage spending proactively.Support the development of financial models for new businesses, including customers, channels, and products.Assist in anchoring and tracking strategic plans that support long-term goals.Participate in key technology and kaizen initiatives as needed.Handle ad-hoc requests from the Consumer Packaged Goods team and Director.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.5 years as a FP&A Leader.Experience in the CPG industry.Strong knowledge in S&OP.Experience with companies having revenue over $100 million.Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsMBA strongly preferred.5+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Food industry or consumer packaged goods.Strong analytical, systems, and communication skills.Leadership experience.Ability to work in a fast-paced growth environment with a balance of urgency and quality.Broad business experience in P&L.Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to interact with Business Unit executives professionally.Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing processes.Team player with initiative and passion.Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.Work Environment
This position is based in Ontario, California, with some domestic travel of less than 10%. The work environment is hybrid, requiring two days onsite. There are no direct reports associated with this role. The company offers a 20% bonus incentive, with half based on individual merit and the other half on department performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
