Job Description
As a Cook, you will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality food service and adhering to federal, state, and corporate standards.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and cook food to order, requiring short preparation times.
+ Serve customers at an a la carte and operate a grill station.
+ Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various foodstuffs.
+ Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, and shred ingredients.
+ Plan production requirements, estimate food needs, and requisition supplies.
+ Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.
+ Attend allergy and foodborne illness training sessions.
+ Comply with safety, HACCP policies, and risk management procedures.
+ Participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
+ Prepare meals for customers with special dietary needs and produce batch goods using basic cooking techniques.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to prepare and cook food to order.
+ Experience operating a grill station.
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and corporate food service standards.
+ Proficiency in following recipes and product directions.
+ Skill in operating kitchen equipment.
+ Capability to plan production requirements and requisition supplies.
+ Adherence to sanitation and safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Participation in allergy and foodborne illness training.
+ Compliance with HACCP policies and procedures.
+ Attendance at safety meetings and training programs.

Work Environment
The role involves working in a university setting with a schedule that includes shifts from 12:30 PM to 9 PM or 10 AM to 7:30 PM. The work environment is generally indoors with moderate to loud noise levels. You may supervise outside activities and events, and the schedule may include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business needs dictate.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
