Collections Specialist
Collections Specialist Job Description As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for generating, reviewing, and processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner. You will ensure compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will reconcile billing discrepancies, resolve customer billing issues, and maintain customer billing accounts and records. You will also prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review and collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing concerns. Responsibilities + Generate, review, and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner. + Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. + Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve customer billing issues. + Maintain and update customer billing accounts and records. + Prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review. + Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service to resolve billing concerns. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. + 1 - 3 years of Corporate Collections experience with similar customer portfolios. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both internal and external to the organization. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel (preferably Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP), Word, and PowerPoint. + Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills. + Superior organizational and prioritization skills with an ability to successfully balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. + Knowledge of Billing, Collections, and Accounts Receivable. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Commitment to excellent customer service. + Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. + Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented. + Experience with Workday is a plus. Work Environment This is a full-time position with a schedule of 5 days onsite, 8-hour workdays with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start hours between 7 am to 9 am are available, provided a consistent schedule is maintained. The office features a 'pit style' cubicle setup, promoting a collaborative environment. Employees enjoy free parking in a garage next to the office, which is conveniently located three blocks from the Bethesda Metro. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
