We are seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our vibrant team. This role involves managing collection and reporting activities while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely payments and addressing customer inquiries and discrepancies.
Responsibilities
Responsible for collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts.Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments.Locate and contact customers to inquire about their payment status.Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.Handle customer questions or complaints.Investigate and resolve discrepancies.Create trust relationships with customers to avoid future issues.Update account status and database regularly.Perform additional duties as required or requested.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree and/or college coursework preferred.2+ years of Business-to-Business Collections experience preferred.Proven experience in collections and customer service.Skip tracing skills are a plus.Ability to multitask and work with multiple customers and tight deadlines.Working knowledge of MS Office and databases.Excellent communication and people skills.Ability to negotiate and deliver results.Polite and compassionate demeanor with confidence.Attention to detail in a high-stress environment.Excellent accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with collection calls and customer service.Basic Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets.Experience with big box retail portals is beneficial.Friendly personality with strong written communication skills.Work Environment
The position is based in a corporate office in Irvine, featuring an open work environment where most employees, apart from management, sit in cubicles. The collections team is lively and communicative, contributing to an energetic atmosphere. The work schedule is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and requires full onsite presence. Benefits include healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, as well as 401K and PTO. The team consists of 8-9 people, and the role currently operates on a 90-day contract with potential for full-time employment based on workload demand.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
