Collections Associate
Aston Carter
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Collections Associate to join our team. In this role, you will conduct daily outreach to customers with past-due invoices, ensuring the resolution of outstanding balances while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct daily outreach via phone and email to customers with past-due invoices to obtain payment commitments and resolve outstanding balances.
+ Maintain accurate records of collection activities, notes, promised payments, and escalation actions.
+ Proactively research and resolve closed or inactive accounts, including identifying updated customer contacts.
+ Collaborate with internal departments such as service, operations, billing, and accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies or service-related disputes.
+ Utilize Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to review invoice statuses, post payments, and document collection efforts.
+ Generate AR aging reports and track progress against collection goals.
+ Follow company policies and compliance guidelines for collection communications.
+ Support continuous improvement of collections processes to drive faster resolution of outstanding balances.
+ Support backlog in two states and provide weekly reports to the manager, including a weekly meeting to update on challenges and client issues.
+ Fully understand the different tiers of agreements for elevator maintenance to explain coverage to customers.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related accounting function, preferably within construction, service, or repair industries.
+ Experience with B2B collections and dealing with difficult or frustrated customers.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
+ Working knowledge of basic accounting and invoicing principles.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ High attention to detail with solid time management and organization skills.
+ Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
+ Proficiency with ERP and accounting software, including Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Comfortable with Excel, including basic spreadsheet formulas and formatting.
+ Experience with backlog management and aging DSO balance reduction.
+ Understanding of contracts to determine what is billable and covered.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting where you will engage with customers primarily via phone and email. The work involves collaborating with various internal departments to resolve customer issues and discrepancies.

This is a Contract position based out of Margate, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
