Coating Technician (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Boulder, CO
Base Pay Rate: $20–24/hour DOE
Shift Differential: Additional pay based on selected shift

Shifts Available
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday | 3:30pm – 2:00am | +$2/hour shift differential
• Weekend Day Shift: Friday – Sunday | 6:00am – 6:30pm | 12% shift differential

Position Overview
The Coating Technician supports optical coating operations by moving components from cleaning processes into coating chamber operations. This role also performs cleaning, inspection, and preparation of substrates and coated components to ensure quality and readiness for coating. This is a hands-on manufacturing role well-suited for candidates interested in precision optics and process manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Inspection
• Clean optical substrates and coated components
• Perform routine inspection and measurement to ensure quality standards
• Conduct incoming inspection of parts as required

Coating Preparation & Support
• Prepare parts for coating operations
• Set up tooling and load parts into coating chambers
• Package optical components for internal processing or shipment
• Perform spin cleaning operations, primarily on smaller optics

Process & Documentation
• Read and comprehend process sheets
• Follow established procedures for chemical handling and processing
• Support tooling setup and begin training on tooling fit checks/reviews

Safety & Workplace Standards
• Follow all safety guidelines and support a safe work environment
• Understand and comply with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control requirements
• Support 6S workplace organization and cleanliness standards

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in a process manufacturing or production environment is a plus, but not required
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Additional Requirements
• Work involves information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available
