JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a CO2 Production Engineer, you will work directly with our Liquid CO2 and Dry Ice production facilities, commercial, scheduling, engineering, and leadership teams. Your primary areas of focus are the oversight of the operation and quality control of CO2 production facilities owned and/or marketed by POET Pure. The CO2 Production Engineer will facilitate the optimization of CO2 production, including analyzing plant data, developing reports, troubleshooting, and assisting with plant operations and maintenance, as well as promoting safety and regulatory compliance across our system. 

This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Primary point of contact for plant personnel for questions or problems with the CO2 process.

Respond to inquiries and issues as they arise, including normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Regular plant visits to ensure expectations are being met and assist with any problems that arise.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Recognize plant needs and engage leadership to resolve shortcomings.

Facilitate localized ownership and empowerment with on-site subject matter experts.

Create scorecards to track key performance indicators and develop/implement strategies for improvement, identifying system leaders and gaps.     

Plan and facilitate major repair and rebuild strategies of operating equipment.

Maximize plant uptime through training, planning, teamwork, and innovation.                   

Develop and provide technical presentations to management and plant team members.

Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.

Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or similar engineering degree.

1+ years of experience as an engineer in an operations, manufacturing, processing, or related field required.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to embrace change.

You communicate effectively in writing and in person.

You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You’re capable of learning new programs.
