CNC Setup Machinist
Job Title: Setup MachinistJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Setup Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in setting up and operating DMG MORI or Hitachi Seiki CNC turning centers. You will occasionally modify existing programs using G code or DMG MORI programming software and regularly inspect tools and parts to ensure precision. Excellent communication with management regarding any delays or concerns is essential. You will also be responsible for verifying the accuracy of your measuring equipment using the standard in the inspection room.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate DMG MORI or Hitachi Seiki CNC turning centers.Modify existing programs at the machine using G code or DMG MORI programming software as needed.Inspect tools and parts regularly to produce precision parts.Communicate any delays, issues, or concerns to management.Ensure measuring equipment is accurate by using the standard in the inspection room.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExtensive hands-on experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines.Familiarity with selecting, maintaining, and using various cutting tools and fixtures.Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve machining issues quickly.Experience in implementing process improvements and efficiencies.Ability to program CNC machines from scratch when needed.Skilled in selecting optimal tool path strategies, including appropriate feeds, speeds, and depths of cuts.Ability to calculate RPM based on SFM.Versatility in operating both CNC vertical machining centers and turning centers.High attention to detail, capable of maintaining tight tolerances.Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics, including trigonometry.Strong ability to interpret and understand complex technical drawings and blueprints.Efficiency in running both new and repetitive jobs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in CNC vertical machining center and turning center operations.Strong mechanical and software troubleshooting skills.Capability in diagnosing and addressing tool breakage to minimize downtime.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.
