CNC Programmer

Salary Range: $79,040 – $93,600

Location: Clackamas, Oregon

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing and building tooling and fixtures, programming and setting up CNC milling machines and lathes, and ensuring all machined parts meet precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and fabricate tooling and fixtures.Program and set up CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.Review blueprints, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operational sequences, and setup requirements.Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.Use micrometers, calipers (dial and digital), thread gauges, go/no-go pins, and other precision measurement tools.Set machining parameters including speed, feed, coolant flow, depth of cut, and angles.Monitor machine operations, identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and make necessary adjustments.Verify that finished parts meet all specifications and quality standards.Update existing programs and fixturing to increase efficiency.Interpret technical specifications and collaborate with Engineering to recommend improvements for manufacturability.Operate CNC mills and lathes as required.Participate in Quality Manual Standards training and apply all related requirements.Follow all safety and security procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions.Essential SkillsCNC programming and setup experience using MasterCam (2024).Hands-on experience with 3- and 4-axis CNC mills (5-axis experience is a plus).Ability to design and build machining fixtures.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).Problem-solving mindset with the ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.Additional QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.3+ years of related machining/programming experience preferred.Experience with vertical and horizontal mills.Solid understanding of machine setup, including fixturing, tool offsets, and program call-up.Strong math skills, including geometry, trigonometry, statistical concepts, and probability.Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.Work Environment

The production floor is not temperature-controlled and may become warm during the summer; however, office and break areas are air-conditioned for comfort. The facility maintains a professional dress code suitable for a manufacturing environment.

The pay range for this position is $79040.00 - $93600.00/yr.
