Job Description
As a CNC Programmer, you will oversee the creation and modification of all CNC programs utilizing CNC and Turn Equipment. Your role will focus on optimizing process improvements, including tooling technology advancement, post-processing, fixture design, creation, and cycle time reductions. You will be a key contributor to manufacturing management and capital expenditure review teams, identifying new machinery and other capital expense requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine machining processes and programs for manufacturing products in multiple-axis machining centers.Analyze part drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimensions and configurations of cuts, selecting cutting tools and machine speeds and feeds based on machine shop process knowledge.Perform debugging and testing of CNC programs in machining centers.Assist in training production operators on the use of new CNC machine controls and tools.Write machine set-up sheets and tool lists to guide the set-up and operation of machining centers.Conduct cutting tools evaluations, cost analysis, and implement new technology.Recommend improvements through cycle time reduction, tooling enhancements, and raw material evaluation.Create and maintain detailed 3D models using CAD software for machining purposes.Utilize PartMaker and Fusion 360 software to generate programs.Essential Skills
5 years of CNC machine programming experience with a proven track record of creating CNC programs.Proficiency in using PartMaker and Fusion 360 software.Familiarity with Haas, Chiron, and Fanuc or similar equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with CNC mill and Turn, 5-Axis programming.Experience working in low volume, high mix environments.Prior experience as a machinist before becoming a programmer.Positive attitude and capability to work collaboratively.Experience with MasterCam or Edge is also acceptable.Experience with subtractive or additive (3D printing) processes.Understanding of GD&T due to the complexity of small parts produced.Ability to conduct tool selection, evaluation, and cost analysis for equipment.Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic environment, writing on a desktop or laptop for simulations. The team consists of one Swiss Programmer and three CNC machinists, with plans to add one more machinist. A new lathe machine is expected to arrive soon, requiring the addition of two more machinists. The focus is on small parts for industries such as medical devices or automotive, excluding oil and gas. The environment encourages collaboration and innovation, with a strong emphasis on precision and quality.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
