**Job Title: CNC Operator** **Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will work with blueprints, drawings, and specifications to set up and operate CNC machines. This role involves ensuring the quality of parts produced, performing secondary operations, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
+ Work from drawings, blueprints, job layouts, or other written specifications.
+ Determine feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences.
+ Set up and inspect the first article part on any proven program for Quality Assurance verification with an 80% approval rate.
+ Change cutting tools and location of workpieces during the machining process.
+ Install cutting tools and work holding devices to handle the size of stock to be machined.
+ Operate and adjust machines until parts conform with specifications and time standards.
+ Make necessary adjustments to setups during operations to maintain accurate production.
+ Complete secondary setups.
+ Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions.
+ Detect and report significant variances in job standards.
+ Train and monitor operators assigned to machines after completing the first article of verification.
+ Run multiple CNC machines.
+ Perform secondary operations using various machines/tools such as files, drill presses, and sanders.
+ Assist operators in inspecting dimensions with proper tools and gauges.
+ Ensure the quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
+ Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and general housekeeping.
+ Report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management/Maintenance.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with CNC machines, including the ability to install vises, cut jaws, and pick up zeros.
+ Proficiency in using and reading measuring equipment.
+ Experience setting up a 3-axis CNC mill.
+ Ability to replace tooling in a CNC, including setting a new Z tool height and replacing a broken or worn tool.
+ Understanding of and experience with offsets and adjusting them.
+ Experience with edge finders and dial indicators.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Haas CNC machines is beneficial.
+ Familiarity with milling and lathe operations.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is climate-controlled and clean, featuring a large CNC department with about 12 operators per shift. Employees work near moving mechanical parts and are exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud, requiring safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes. The shift schedule offers flexibility with multiple options, including A, B, C, and D shifts, catering to various work-life balance preferences.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of RALEIGH, NC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
