As a CNC Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and precise operation of CNC machines. You will contribute to a culture of proactive safety and be responsible for reviewing set-up sheets and specifications, loading and unloading work pieces, and ensuring the quality of finished parts. Your role will involve performing secondary operations, maintaining cleanliness in your work area, and reporting any unsafe conditions or machine malfunctions.
ResponsibilitiesStrive towards a culture of proactive safety.Review set-up sheets and specifications to determine the operating sequence of the machine.Load and unload work pieces as instructed, ensuring quality before forwarding to the next process.Perform secondary operations using various machines and tools such as files, drill presses, and sanders.Ensure cleanliness of the work area and report any unsafe conditions or machine malfunctions.Work from drawings, blueprints, or other specifications to determine feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences.Set up and inspect first article parts and assist in the training of new operators.Operate multiple CNC machines and make necessary adjustments to maintain accurate production.Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions.
Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.One year of CNC experience preferred.Basic math skills.Ability to read measuring tools including calipers and micrometers.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop travelers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications1 to 3 years of CNC setup experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Mandatory 4th axis machining experience.Understanding of and experience with offsets, G52 line in CNC programs, edge finders, and dial indicators.Ability to use probes, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.

Work Environment
The work environment is climate-controlled and clean, with a large CNC department of about 12 operators per shift. While performing essential functions, employees work near moving mechanical parts and are exposed to airborne particles and chemicals, making safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes mandatory. The noise level is usually very loud. Various shifts are available, providing flexibility in scheduling.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
