**Mill-Turn Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled machinist for a day shift position in our machine shop located in Garden Grove, CA. The role involves setting up and operating **CNC Mill-Turn machine** s, specifically the **NL, NLX, and NTX models.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
+ Set up and operate CNC Mill Turning centers, particularly NL, NLX, and NTX models.
+ Manage the setup and operation of more than one machine simultaneously when required.
+ Utilize inspection tools, such as height gauges, optical comparators, thread gauges, plug gauges, micrometers, verniers, and indicators, to ensure in-process work adheres to specified standards.
+ Complete written inspection reports and paperwork related to counts, scrap, time, etc., in accordance with company policy, including First Article Inspection results, job travelers, and non-conformance reports.
+ Collect data and follow data collection procedures at the workstation for each operation.
+ Make necessary edits and adjustments to produce parts according to work order and blueprint specifications.
+ Monitor and maintain the performance of machines and equipment, looking out for signs of problems such as vibrating workpieces or breakage of cutting tools.
+ Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.
+ Participate in continuous improvement teams and activities.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Some college or technical school work is preferred.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with setup and operating CNC Mill-Turn machines.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
+ Ability to interact with operations team members and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, and time-sensitive environment.
+ Quick learner and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a contract machine shop serving the aerospace, oil and gas, and medical device sectors. Overtime may be required on weekdays or weekends, and the work environment is fast-paced and dynamic.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
