Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to lead a team and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers, including MILLS - 3 Axis with 4 Axis Rotary and 5 Axis Trunnion. This role involves performing machine and job setups in a high mix, low volume environment, managing two machines per shift, and ensuring precision in machining tasks.

ResponsibilitiesPerform job setup and operations using provided work order and part print (blueprint).Set tool tables and align offsets to correct positions, pulling correct tooling for the job.Identify and load correct part program into the machine according to the work order.Conduct both short and long machining runs.Select correct materials from inventory locations according to work order specifications (materials range from 2” to 16” in size).Perform miscellaneous tasks such as first piece inspections, quality checks, basic preventative maintenance, and cleaning work areas.Assist other employees when necessary.Check parts for quality and specifications according to job documentation, including 1st piece inspections.Maintain accurate part counts and complete cycle time sheets.Adhere to safety rules and company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Essential Skills3 to 5 years of experience with CNC controls.Ability to operate and set up Fanuc controls (16i, 18i, 200i, 31i) on Vertical Machining Centers.Capability to hold tolerances down to 5/10,000ths.Working knowledge of CNC machine work coordinate systems, tool length, and diameter offsets.Proficiency in G, M, and S codes, with ability to make at-machine program edits.Familiarity with shop math and ability to solve related problems.Ability to read blueprints and English work order instructions.Competence in using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and test indicators.Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, with jacks and hoists available when necessary.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Advanced Machine Skills Training is a plus.Experience with Solidworks, CAD/CAM, and troubleshooting.Mechanical and programming skills related to machining equipment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
