**Job Title: CNC Machinist and Programmer** **Job Description**
This position is for a 2nd shift CNC Machinist working from 4 PM to 2 AM, Monday through Friday. The role involves operating CNC machines, including mills and potentially a small boring mill. The machinist will receive daily job assignments from the 2nd shift supervisor and will be responsible for running different parts for automotive machines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate CNC machines, including mills and boring mills, on the 2nd shift.
+ Obtain daily job assignments from the 2nd shift supervisor.
+ Run jobs that vary in duration from a few hours to several days.
+ Work with team members to manage materials for assigned tasks.
+ Make program edits and support writing programs from scratch.
+ Utilize and maintain five Mazak mills, two the person, a Femco boring mill, and a Gilbert boring mill.
+ Operate multiple manual lathes and mills.
+ Primarily work with mild steel, while occasionally working with aluminum, copper, brass, and different plastics.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5 years of experience in CNC programming on Visi Software.
+ 5 years of experience in CNC machining on mills.
+ 5 years of experience in CNC machine setup.
+ Proficiency in blueprint welding.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Visi programming.

**Work Environment**
The work takes place in a technologically advanced facility equipped with Mazak mills, Femco boring mill, Gilbert boring mill, and various manual lathes and mills. The primary material used is mild steel, but there is also exposure to aluminum, copper, brass, and plastics. The role is structured around a 2nd shift schedule, providing a unique work-life balance. Attire is standard for a machining environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
